Acqualagna, Pesaro e Urbino, Italy

Acqualagna, the capital of the valuable white truffle (in February, August, October and November there are national and regional market exhibitions) and known for stone craftsmanship, following the ancient consular road of Via Flaminia, you cross the evocative Gola del Furlo recently recognised as a State Natural Reserve with the tunnel (Forulus) dug out of compact limestone, using a chisel, by the Roman legions in 76 A.D. and the lake. Nearby, you can admire the Romanesque Abbey of S. Vincenzo al Furlo and the Sanctuary of Pelingo.
